Dear Families and Soaring Eagles,

I am so excited to introduce myself as your new principal. What an honor it is to be part of the Ambuehl Family! This summer there have been many people hard at work making improvements to benefit our students. We have renovated the MPR, transformed the library into an Innovation Center and updated the office and playground. However, the construction crew is not the only team who have been working this summer – our teachers and staff are also hard at work getting ready to welcome everyone to the 2019-20 school year.

To share a bit about me: My husband and I have been married 32 years.  We have two loving daughters and a wonderful son-in-law, all of who were educated in CUSD and have now graduated from college.  Wanting to be a teacher my entire life, I began my career right after graduation from UCI teaching third and fifth grade in Tustin until becoming a mom. Once our girls began school, I became active on PTA and served as room-mom for eight years prior to being hired as a teacher in CUSD.  I taught 3rd and 5th grade at Don Juan Avila Elementary School, 6th grade math at Shorecliffs Middle School, and for the past four years I have had the honor of being Assistant Principal at Don Juan Avila Middle School where I supported students through the transition from elementary to teenage years.  My experience as a parent and educator have given me a true understanding of what students need to be successful in school and beyond.

I can’t express enough how honored I am to have the opportunity to work alongside the teachers and families at Ambuehl Elementary as we join together this year to “Build the Foundation for Success”.  Our teachers are dedicated to providing the best educational experience for your child, and we encourage you to join us by getting involved any way you can.  Whether it is volunteering in your child’s classroom, working with PTA committees, or supporting school events.  Children grow up faster than we think, and memories made here will last a lifetime.

Thank you for entrusting every one of us with your precious children; we do not take this responsibility lightly.  If you have any questions, or just want to meet me, please look for me in front of the school or come by the office, my door is open.

I look forward to meeting everyone on August 20th at 7:45am!
